Privacy policy

Last updated: this policy takes effect from the date the website goes live.

This policy explains how ESH’S Truck Driving School handles personal information collected through this website. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate, because a privacy policy nobody can read is not much of a protection.

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to give us. If you fill in the enquiry form on our contact page, that means:

• your name;
• your email address;
• your phone number;
• the licence class you are enquiring about;
• your suburb;
• your preferred start date, if you provide one; and
• whatever you write in the message field.

If you call or message us instead, we hold whatever you tell us in that conversation.

Why we collect it

To reply to your enquiry, to work out which licence class applies to you, to arrange lessons, and to contact you about a booking you have made. That is the whole list.

We do not sell your information. We do not pass it to third parties for marketing. We do not add you to a mailing list because you asked a question.

How the enquiry form works

The form on our contact page is processed on our own web server, which emails the contents of your enquiry to us. It is not passed through a third-party form service, and the details you enter are not stored in a database on this website.

The form also includes a hidden field intended to catch automated spam. If you are a person filling in the form normally, you will never see it and it collects nothing about you. We do not log your IP address when you submit the form.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not set tracking cookies and does not run advertising or analytics scripts. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google’s servers to fetch them. That request carries the usual technical information any web request does, such as your IP address and browser type. We do not receive or store that information.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and booking records for as long as we need them to provide training and to meet any record-keeping obligations that apply to us. If you would like your details removed sooner, ask us and we will remove what we are not required to keep.

Keeping it secure

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise, but we do not hold payment card details on this website and the site does not have a customer login.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it. Contact us using any of the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, tell us first and we will try to put it right. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you can escalate the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
